Question: Yvonne McCormack Lyons

You started working as an on air personality in Orlando, and I’d like to dig a little deeper on how you did that? How did you make that happen?

Answer: Shay Davis:

I tell people all the time. It’s all about relationships. So the way that you move from one place to the next definitely is not who you know, it’s who knows you.

So I met a guy named Jonathan. I don’t even remember where I met him it, but he invited me to an event, and I guess it was a lot of politics going on there.

So I went to this event, and I was just there networking and talking to different people, and I met the host of the show. I told him like Hey, yeah, I’m really interested in getting on the radio and learning more about this.

And so he’s like, Okay, we’ll bring you on on Fridays as the comic relief and kind of see how that goes. And so I would come in on the fun Fridays show listen, laugh and learn. And so, you know, I would come in and make everybody laugh!

I was very much the common person and that kind of made a huge difference too, because I would play devil’s advocate..… So I ended up being on the show regularly.  I did that for about a year, and it was very fun. It was amazing!
